Here at Voltaire Diamonds, we absolutely love a good proposal story.
With the most popular proposal times of Christmas and New Year’s Eve beckoning, we
thought why not kick off the romantic season sharing proposal stories from our very own clients.
Sean & Emma
Sean & Emma met at the University of Limerick and dated for seven years before Sean eventually popped the question on the eve of their anniversary. Sean wanted to keep the proposal as simple and as special as possible. Returning to his Alma Mater with his wife to be, Sean chose to propose to Emma at the very place where they first met all those years ago. ‘I met Emma while sitting having lunch on the “The Living Bridge – An Droichead Beo”, we just struck up a conversation and it went from there.’ With the bridge all lit up at night, creating beautiful views over the River Shannon, Sean got down on one knee and in his own words completely forgot what he was planning to say! ‘Even though I had already spent seven of the best years of my life with Emma, it suddenly felt very real and at the same time, I also felt that our story was just beginning.’ Sean chose a stunning emerald cut diamond Antique style engagement ring and of course Emma said yes!
Emma: ‘It was completely unexpected! I wasn’t anxiously wondering if this was the moment so Sean really surprised me in the best possible way. I don’t like being fussed over so Sean keeping the moment low-key and intimate was perfect for me. The engagement ring is absolutely stunning and amazingly fit me perfectly too.’
